Under Bush, America had a military capable of fighting on two fronts, did security ops in Kosovo and the Balkans, and Iran/ North Korea could not get nukes. Obama effectively "killed" 20-25% of the military in two years. This IS all Obama's fault.

Like when Rush Limbaugh lied this week about the Duke study. The authors of that study actually came out against him because the political media does this all of the time. That is scientists up in arm over being exploited in a non-debate
rebeccaolsen - April 25, 2015, 2:46 pm
By now, it's common sense knowledge in the world of academia that climatology firmly supports the theory of MMCC. The scientific community is not at odds over this. It's the public that is on the fence. Talking about it too much distracts from the issue
rebeccaolsen - April 25, 2015, 2:43 pm
Don't really care about any of that. If or when the media is wrong about MMCC, doesn't change the fact that the science community is firmly behind MMCC in both consensus and findings.
calron - April 25, 2015, 2:39 pm
Roughly 1.59% of the abstracts reach the conclusion that he says the majority agrees with. That's not in the ballpark. If he chose a different standard to measure the consensus, he could have got the 97.1%.
rebeccaolsen - April 25, 2015, 2:33 pm
the scientists will just get each other's back like some country club. That's absurd. That's not what peer review means. On this issue, there has been enough fact checking that this bias would've been revealed by the present.
rebeccaolsen - April 25, 2015, 2:31 pm
It would appear Faux is talking about peer-reviewed journals about climate change, not the consensus. Roughly speaking, virtually all of them ARE behind the MMCC theory. OTC's problem is he thinks peer review is biased because

Cook is guilty of being sloppy, not being debunked. Roughly speaking, he was in the ball park. Again you are splitting hairs hun. Peer review has caught it. It's just not a big enough issue to matter. Climatology isn't up in arms over this for good reason
calron - April 25, 2015, 2:24 pm
I've red a few and this is not necessary true. Take Cook's census for example. It reaches a conclusion that is debunked by Cook's own numbers rather than reaching the conclusion supported by the numbers. Peer review should catch it, but it still happens.

fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:56 pm
It's point (B) you are refuting. Now with your debunked cosmic ray nonsense. The effectiveness of GCRs in cloud formation has been shown to be dubious. GCRs exert a very tiny influence over low-level cloud cover, not enough to account for sh*t.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:53 pm
But the reason WE KNOW man-made CO2 is causing GW now is because (A) CO2 in theory CAN cause CC (a point you've conceded) and (B) thousands of investigations by reputable scientists and have found the correlation in a myriad of ways that is unequivocal.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:52 pm
Just because man-made CO2 or cosmic rays COULD cause climate change, doesn't mean all climate change is caused by CO2 and cosmic rays. See what I did there? I included CO2 as well.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:50 pm
Sure...if all this happened, it could cause global warming. But there is ZERO evidence that any of this happened. And by pushing it, you are engaging in a causal fallacy. ie.Just because Socrates is a man, doesn't mean all men are Socrates.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:49 pm
In order for GCRs to successfully seed clouds, they must induce aerosol formation which THEN must grow sufficiently through the condensation of gas in our atmosphere to form cloud-condensation nuclei. Then his must lead to increased cloud formation.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:47 pm
FACT- Cosmic ray flux on Earth has been monitored since the 1950s, and has shown ZERO-ZILCH-NADA significant trends over that period. FACT - our global solar magnetic field also has NOT changed appreciably over the past thirty years.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:45 pm
However, it turns out that none of these hypotheticals that Henrik proposed are occurring in reality. For instance, a nuclear winter COULD create global cooling. But that doesn't mean nukes caused the ice age.lol.. What matters is the PRESENT causes NOW
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:39 pm
Hypothetically, an increasing solar magnetic field COULD deflect cosmic rays, which hypothetically seeds low-level clouds, thus decreasing the Earth's reflectivity and causing GW.That's his hypothesis. But is that ACTUALLY happening? Is it the reality now?
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:36 pm
In fact, it's funny, but you are pretty much just copying and pasting what Henrik is saying. I know. I checked. Again, here is the refutation mate--->
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:34 pm

fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:31 pm
Mother nature is not denying the science. You are, denier. There are 4 requirements that must be true for his theory to be valid. They failed to produce results when tested repeatedly against empirical variables. And you are not replying to that.
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 9:28 pm
And that didn't reply at all to the evidence I cited. Just more pigeon chess from you. Yes, you are good at the copy and paste function, mate. Now apply that same vigor to actually learning the science you deny. :-) You might learn something
OTC - April 23, 2015, 9:02 pm
You understand his findinds that when the sun is active, as it has been, it shields us from cosmic rays reducing cloud cover which heats up the planet. with the sun becoming less active, more cosmic rays will produce more clouds
OTC - April 23, 2015, 8:55 pm
The sun is going into a grand minimum, temperatures have flatten recently and scientists are suggesting a cooling period. There's too much invested in the MMGW hype to accept a Global Cooling. Everyone can deny that science, but Mother Nature won't
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 6:21 pm
It turns out that none of these Hen'schypotheticals are occurring in reality, and if cosmic rays were able to influence global temperatures, they would be having a cooling effect. This IS why he is ignored and why you don't know **** about MMCC.Cheers :-)
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 6:18 pm
In summary, studies have shown that GCRs exert a minor influence over low-level cloud cover, solar magnetic field has not increased in recent decades, nor has GCR flux on Earth decreased. In fact,if GCRs did have a significant impact, cooling wouldve occurred
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 6:16 pm
3)Cosmic rays must successfully seed low-level clouds.4)Low-level cloud cover must have a long-term negative trend. Fortunately climatology had empirical variables against which they tested these requirements. Study after indie study debunked Hen's theory

fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 4:20 pm
Even so, Michael Crichton's opinion on this means about as much to the CC debate as Steven Spielberg's opinion. ie.Not very much. A poster like this plainly proves the deniers are simply trolling science. It is proof of nothing. 1 Lion
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 4:18 pm
We are discussing 10000+ studies, reproducible results, in what is called PEER-REVIEW. The consensus vernacular is plainly the "CC for Dummies" explanation for that.It is not meant as a substitute for hard science, which already exists for MMCC(2/2)
fauxnews - April 23, 2015, 4:14 pm
Michael Crichton, who is the author of this quote, never did a study on climate change. Nor was he a climatologist. The part you missed, though, was where he says: "what is relevant is reproducible results." Every major CC study has been reproduced(1/2)

fauxnews - July 13, 2014, 1:54 pm
The point is that the Bible is a lousy, superstitious place to govern a nation, and shouldn't. Ironically, the spirit and message of Christ is unconditional love for all. It makes no sense for him to exclude g**s, other races or religions...

Yes, I agree with the gist of what you are saying. My point was that basis modern law off a dusty 2000 year old book that punishes you with death for how "you read your goats" is not a rock solid basis for how humans should treat each other...
fauxnews - July 13, 2014, 9:53 am
The commandments from the Bible also says "Psychics, wizards, and so on are to be stoned to death" and "Don't let cattle graze with other kinds of Cattle" and other laws from 2000 years ago...lol
fauxnews - July 13, 2014, 9:53 am
...Same-*** marriage is rejected as un-Christian and immoral on the basis of a myopic reading of a very few Biblical texts. And the texts in question are scant indeed.
fauxnews - July 13, 2014, 9:52 am
Actually, TA, the Bible does not clearly endorse one form of marriage over another. The Biblical arguments against same-*** marriage are not proffered from texts that deal with marriage, but from texts that purportedly deal with same-*** orientation...
fauxnews - July 13, 2014, 9:51 am
I said "the bible." I never said "the church". There is a difference. And if I were a Xtian, I wouldn't give a f*** what a group of contemporaries in charge of essentially a politically organization think. Who needs others to tell me what the bible means?
terroraustralis - July 13, 2014, 2:41 am
i'm all for equality, but saying the bible doesnt oppose g** marriage is just plain stupid. if the bible prohibits a couple having *** then its an obvious implication that marriage between them is also prohibited.
fauxnews - July 12, 2014, 8:40 pm
The g** men in the surrounding states that got married never hurt you either. Not one hair on your head. Buildings aren't burning down over it. Baby Jesus isn't crying. See a theme here? More guns have hurt people than any g** marriage ever did. Nuff said
Bandit5906 - July 12, 2014, 8:19 pm
I left ammo next to my gun for a whole month and it never hurt anyone!
fauxnews - July 12, 2014, 8:13 pm
That works too.
Greeny - July 12, 2014, 7:26 pm
I see no vs. here... putting the wrong people behind guns or marriage, it's the same thing

REVELATION 22:11 - Let him who does wrong continue to do wrong; let him who is vile continue to be vile; let him who does right continue to do right... jesus says do not judge, for only god may judge.

then american law goes against the bible, which says that the only way god will know if people are g** and should be punished, is if they get married to each other. thats the basic premise... if life is a test, then we're letting them cheat...
loosecannon - September 20, 2012, 2:50 pm
According to most State laws and the DoMA, g** marriage is already illegal. Republicans aren't trying to ban it...

following the "kill all the queers" passages is like obama followers ignoring his recent failures and saying how great of a president he is going to be.
terroraustralis - September 19, 2012, 12:57 am
i like to follow the philosophy that the most recent updates are the most likely to be correct. its not my fault that the bible contradicts itself multiple times. i tend to follow philosophies that arent self-contradictory, like freedom of speech.
JGalt - September 18, 2012, 6:54 am
I think that is what you just did in your previous quote. Not familiar with the bible quote about not banning g** marriage or abortions. I seem to remember homo***uality being a sin as well as murder. just sayin. you got different quotes to pick from?
terroraustralis - September 18, 2012, 4:00 am
i dont hate christianity, i hate christians who "pick and choose" what bible passages they want to follow and which they ignore.
terroraustralis - September 18, 2012, 3:59 am
in other words, dont try to ban g** marriage, dont try to ban abortions. live by the rules of god but dont impose the rules of god on others. its right there in the bible, and its in the constitution, why is that so hard to understand?

why should that be a prerequisite? And does that mean you are also suggesting that sterile heteros shouldn't be able to marry?
OTC - May 1, 2013, 12:03 pm
If same s e x couples can procreate, then they should marry and have the benefits.
Renza - April 29, 2013, 10:33 am
Not actually a requirement

Ron2 - April 28, 2013, 7:58 am
Yeah, I know. Equal only means equal if it excludes people based on sick interpretation of religious values. Someone always has to be a second class citizen it seems.
Renza - April 28, 2013, 7:55 am
But allowing g** marriage would go against their selective beliefs in their partial interpretation of their religion... cause you know, this country was founded with the intent to become a religious state right?
Ron2 - April 28, 2013, 5:47 am
marriage. If they want to do the traditional lie then we can go back to selling our daughters for cows and goats, providing dowries, forced arranged marriages, male dominated law regarding marriage. Like stone them if they do something you disagree with
Ron2 - April 28, 2013, 5:45 am
Suits have been filed and won with the nine states with common law marriage and vested interest by hetero***ual couples in other states. A marriage holds more water than a POA, medical or otherwise. I fail to see why so many are so against g.a.y.
OTC - April 26, 2013, 4:34 pm
Why segregate between single and married? Or straight, g a y, or polygamists?
crankyhead - April 26, 2013, 1:39 pm
Guys, churches don't perform marriages, they perform weddings. A marriage, is a certificate that you get at the county clerks office. Religion has sweet fk all to do with it.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 12:01 pm
Allowing g** marriage wouldn't force churches (or whatever other religious organization) to perform services, just offers legal viability to the union.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 12:00 pm
Obviously churches can be as discriminate as they want, freedom of religion and all that. I'm saying the laws should simply be expanded to incorporate homos. The actual "marriage" can be religious (as available) or just legal the same as hetero couples.
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 11:47 am
Also, I am out for the day, so I'll check back for your response on Monday, ok?
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 11:46 am
My best friend did it that way, simple and quick at city hall, performed by the mayor.
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 11:45 am
I'm going somewhere with this, obviously. Since you want both, will the next step be to legislate that churches perform the 'marriage'? Or will going to city hall and having a civil union performed be enough?
Renza - April 26, 2013, 10:32 am
A viable reason to argue against differentiating it, is that having two separate policies allows for differing rights/benefits to be provided to the two groups, plus overhead in trying to get politicians to update both simultaneously as needed.
Renza - April 26, 2013, 10:30 am
I've already answered that, equal rights. You however appear to be purposefully evading my question as to why there should even be a re-terming or segregation involved beyond religious or "moral" beliefs...
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 10:11 am
So is it the 'term' you want, or the equal rights?
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:56 am
Equal rights for all is the core of it, yes. My question however, is why anyone outside of religious belief (which includes "moral" belief) feels the need to differentiate between it, rather than just ending the discrimination and allowing equal access.
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 8:49 am
Give them a civil union. That is their argument, correct? Equal rights for all, correct?
Renza - April 26, 2013, 8:01 am
Why segregate the system between strait or g**? In fact, has anyone ever heard any legitimate reason (aka non religious/"moral" reasoning) to block g**s from equal rights to marry, at all?
StoneTools - April 26, 2013, 7:42 am
Actually, they are. If a man and woman live together without being married, they cannot make life decisions for each other.
Oyster - April 26, 2013, 6:12 am
So give them a civil union with all the legal rights that a married couple has. Problem solved.
Ron2 - April 26, 2013, 5:24 am
As much as this hurts defend liberals... single people are not being denied having their significant other able to make life decisions for them should they need it. Which is a huge part of the benefit of marriage.
